Christ Church Angel Tree

"Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a
great joy which will come to all people..."
- Luke 2:10
Advent is a time of preparation as we await the birth of the Messiah. During this time of year, we are particularly aware of our blessings and how we, in turn, bless others. Angel Tree is a partnership between Christ Church and Fourth Presbyterian, which provides a way for us to share the love of Christ with others. We welcome you to participate in Angel Tree in one of the following ways:

Option #1: Adopt a Child for Christmas
Suggested Donation: $80.
Please do not spend more than this

Gifts are due back to the Parish House on Monday, December 10
Children in the Sterling Torch Program have created a wish list of wants and needs for Christmas. Sign up to adopt a child for Christmas in the Parish House on Sunday, December 2, and we will give you that child’s wish list.

Option #2: Christmas Stockings for Seniors
Suggested Donation: $20 Stockings
due back to the Parish House on Monday, December 10

Fill a stocking for a Sterling senior. The stocking should include toiletries, hard candy, socks, hats, cards, and other small, fun items. Stockings will be available for pickup at the Parish House.

Option #3: Book Adventure
Suggested Donation: $40

Do you remember your first trip to a book store where you picked out a brand new book? Let’s help make that possible for the children we serve in the Sterling Community also. Mail a check made payable to “Christ Church” with “Sterling Book Fund” in the memo line, to the attention of Debbie Rice. Then, in May you are most welcome to come with us to help the kids pick out their books.

Option #4: Summer Adventure Trip
Suggested Donation: $40

We will be taking kids in the Sterling Torch Program on a summer adventure trip. In recent years we have zip-lined down the Saluda Gorge, kayaked, whitewater rafted, and visited the Biltmore House. Help us do it again this summer by sending your check made payable to “Christ Church” with “Sterling Adventure Fund” in the memo line, to the attention of Debbie Rice. Please also consider coming with us this summer as a chaperone on our adventure trip.

Option #5: Donate your time during Angel Tree and Beyond
We need volunteers to help with the Angel Tree program, including sign up and distribution of angels and stockings, donation deliveries, and gift wrapping volunteers to help Sterling parents December 14- 16. Throughout the rest of the year, we need volunteers to accompany children on field trips and to serve as tutors.

Click above to sign up via Sign Up Genius, where you can register to buy gifts for a boy or girl in need. We will provide detailed instructions to all participants. Gifts need to be returned to the church by Monday, December 10.

If you are sending in a donation, please mail a check to Christ Church,
Attn: Debbie Rice, 10 N. Church Street, Greenville, SC 29601. Checks should be made payable to Christ Church with “Sterling Book (or Adventure) Fund” in the memo line. For more information, contact Debbie Rice, 282.3108.
