Blessing of the Animals Sunday, October 9, 2:00 PM, Parish House Courtyard
Have your pet blessed as we celebrate the life and ministry of St. Francis of Assisi. We will gather to enjoy a brief liturgy and clergy will bless each pet individually. A special blessing will be offered for our friends at the Greenville Humane Society. Contact David Turner for more information.
After Blessing of the Animals children in 1st – 5th grades and their parents are invited to McKissick Refectory to visit with Kim Chiswell, Director of Education at Safe Haven & Educational Adventures. Safe Haven is a local non-profit corporation dedicated to providing a sanctuary for unwanted, neglected and abused exotic animals. Kim will be on hand with a few of her exotic friends for a time of education and fun. Our preschoolers will enjoy a special activity as well. Children in K3-K5 and their parents will meet in room 127 of the Parish House to design and make animal masks.Contact Lei Offerle, 282.4142 for more information.
