Dr. Marion Crooks, LISW-CP, Director

Dr. Marion Crooks became the first director of the Canterbury Counseling Center in July of 2005. Dr. Crooks is an ordained United Methodist Minister with more than thirty-six years experience as a parish minister and counselor. Previously, he developed and directed the Buncombe Street Pastoral Counseling Center in Greenville, SC from 1989—2005. He holds degrees from Clemson University, Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and Erskine Theological Seminary. Dr. Crooks’ clinical training includes a two-year residency at the SC Dept. of Mental Health and Palmetto Baptist Medical Center, Columbia, SC. He is a SC State Licensed Independent Social Worker—Clinical Practitioner (LISW-CP), and holds Fellow status in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC). 235-7501, mbcjrcanterbury@bellsouth.net
