Membership Process

There are sev≠eral steps in the membership process, outlined below.

1. Attend Discovery Weekend

2. Attend Faith Foundations Sunday School Classes

If youíre unable to attend Discovery Weekend, we ask that you attend several of our Faith Foundations Sunday School Classes. If you have attended Discovery Weekend, these classes are recommended, but not required.

3. Be in touch with our Parish Registrar.

Our Parish Registrar, Sarah Marczynski, smarczynski@ccgsc.org, maintains the Christ Church record books and other official documents.

4. Attend the service of Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation

The final step in the membership process is to appear before the Bishop of the Diocese of Upper South Carolina at a festive worship service. There are typically two services each year, one in the Spring and one in the late Fall.

Those who have been confirmed in the Episcopal Church, are reaffirmed.

Those who have been confirmed by a Bishop in apostolic succession (Roman Catholic, ELCA, Eastern Orthodox), are received.

Those who have been confirmed in another denomination (Methodist, Presbyterian, etc.) or have not been confirmed, are confirmed in the Episcopal Church.

We are glad you are interested in joining our community.
