Inquirers' Class

The Inquirers' Class is taught by a member of the clergy and allows participants to learn, in detail, key components of our faith while receiving answers to other questions, whether they fit the topic or not. These fun classes allow us to get to know each other better, ask and answer nagging questions about faith and practice, and, occasionally, stump the priest. The class will be held on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour (9:30 - 10:15 AM) beginning in fall 2018.

Becoming a Member

Those who have been baptized and are joining Christ Church from another denomination and have requested their membership be transferred from the previous church.

Those who have been confirmed in the Greek Orthodox, Lutheran (ELCA) or Roman Catholic Churches and have attended Discovery Weekend. They have requested a transfer from their previous church to Christ Church.

Those who have previously been confirmed in the Episcopal Church and are transferring their membership to Christ Church. They have attended Discovery Weekend and would like to be reaffirmed by the Bishop.

Transfer: For those who wish to transfer to their membership from another Episcopal Church

The following statement from our canons (the rules which govern our church life) set forth the basis for membership:
All persons who have received the Sacrament of Holy Baptism with water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, whether in this Church or in another Christian Church, and whose Baptisms have been duly recorded in this Church, are members thereof.

Which means that:
If you have never been baptized, and are baptized here, you become a member of Christ Church.
- or -
If you were baptized in another Church (either another Episcopal Church or another Christian Church), and you transfer the record of that baptism to us, you become a member of Christ Church.
