Faith in Action Vision

Mindful that since the apostles the ministry of service has been an integral part of the nature and practice of Christianity, the Faith in Action vision for the next decade seeks to engage those within and evangelize those outside our community through consistent patterns of service that nurture faith in the Triune God.

As we prepare for the parish’s third century, Christ Church’s Faith in Action Ministry will:

Offer a breadth of parish impact ministries that offer regular and accessible service opportunities to parishioners similar in scale to those opportunities offered by Faith Development,

o    Jubilee Ministries and other programs including GAIHN and GROW

o    Sunday Missions

o    other special events

Be an engaged partner with community programs and institutions sharing common goals,

o    establish stewardship priorities and criteria

o    maintain evaluation process over time

o    support consonant with our desire for mutual transformation using our time, talent, and treasure

Coordinate mission trips that enable and support long term personal and community transformation,

o    develop model consonant with our polity and piety

o    offer range of mission trips for experiential transformation for youth and adults

o    enrich process to nurture long-term transformation

Offer leadership to the broader Greenville community that encourages the common good and the pursuit of the moral in the public sphere while we model ethical action within this parish and,

o    exercise public leadership in and through partner organizations

o    advocate for effective models of ministry and engagement

o    advocate for environmental responsibility as theological act

Use our resources as a catalyst for sustained impact through institutions serving the common good in Haiti and in western Greenville.

o    plan for long term engagement in breadth of projects in Haiti, especially with the vocational school at Corporant

o    develop plans for Hope School and other options in Sterling community mindful of that the most successful and sustainable options are in collaboration with private and governmental partners
