Harrison was called to become the 20th rector of Christ Church in the summer of 2008.
Born in Virginia, Harrison grew up in Birmingham, AL as a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. After college, he worked several years in both New York City and Birmingham and then entered the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest.
His background in the Episcopal Church is considerable, serving as assistant rector at All Saints and as rector of Church of the Good Shepherd, both in Alabama. He served as rector of Christ Episcopal Church in Tyler, TX before accepting the call to become rector of Christ Church here in Greenville.
Harrison has been married to Jennifer Byers for almost twenty years and they have two sons, Hal and Jack. He attended the University of Alabama, earning a B.S. in Psychology, and received his M. Div. degree from Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest. Harrison is currently a doctoral candidate at Virginia Theological Seminary.
