“O come, let us sing unto the Lord. Let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation.” Psalm 95
Christ Church Parish Choir
The Parish Choir is an adult choral ensemble, comprised primarily of parishioners who work alongside professional section leaders in preparing a wide variety of repertoire drawn from nearly 900 years of the Western sacred music tradition. From Gregorian and Anglican chant to African-American spirituals, the goal of the Parish Choir is to enhance our liturgical celebrations with beautiful music that is representative of the breadth and depth of the Anglican choral tradition. The Parish Choir assists in leading worship at the 10:30 AM Eucharist from August - June. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM the All Saints Center, RM 100. Contact Donald W. Duncan, Principal Organist and Director of Music, for more information.
Christ Church Handbell Choir
The Christ Church Handbell Choir adorns our liturgy with musical offerings throughout the program year and on special occasions. Utilizing a set of handbells cast by the famed Whitechapel Bell Foundry of London, this adult ensemble rehearses on Monday evenings at 6:15 PM in the All Saints Center RM 100. Music reading skills are required, as well as a commitment to regular attendance at rehearsals. Contact Donald W. Duncan, Principal Organist and Director of Music, for more information.
Christ Church Children’s Choirs
The choirs at Christ Church are affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music in America. The RSCM children’s choir program is designed to teach children to be invaluable members to the community. Each level of training includes vital instruction in Christian Formation. The emphasis is on personal instruction for each child and adult who enters the program. Personal growth is achieved through the dedicated sharing of their musical gifts, serving as leaders of worship on Sundays as well as occasional and special services. All levels of the RSCM Program are designed to challenge each young musician on an individual basis, and give a sense of accomplishment and self-esteem. The key to advancement is achieving the musical knowledge necessary, especially by attending the required rehearsals and services; for these are where the young musicians apply their art while giving their musical gifts to the Glory of God.
We offer three children’s choirs (Cherub, Coventry, and Canterbury) for children in K3 - grade 5. More information regarding rehearsals and locations can be found here.
