Senior Adults

The Senior Adult Ministry at Christ Church is a Discipleship ministry with connections to Pastoral Care programs. Through trips, classes, lunches and programs we engage each other and challenge ourselves to continue our transformational encounters with Christ. Whether visiting friends who are no longer mobile or enjoying an early morning Eucharist and breakfast afterwards, Christ Church Senior Adults enjoy fellowship and Christian community and bless the parish and city with their depth of spiritual maturity and wisdom. We welcome friends of all ages to join us.

Success to Significance

Wednesdays this fall starting September 15.  Led by Sally Skardon and Christine Lyles.

For everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.  Ecclesiastes 3:1

But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me.  1 Corinthians 15:10

“Halftime” is your opportunity to “time-out” and dream about the next season of your life – the significant season that God has for you.  Bob Buford’s personal story, “Halftime,” guides you through making your self assessment to find your unique calling.  While clarifying your core abilities and passions, you begin creating a workable plan for investing your time and talent in your area of passion.  Borrowing a page for the apostle Paul’s “playbook,” and concentrating on the inner voice of the Holy Spirit, you are encouraged to listen carefully for your unique calling and then summon the courage to live it out.

Christ Church ECW Chapter of Saint Monica and Saint Teresa Guild

The meetings include a devotional, a program and a social gathering. The chapter makes donations to various Christ Church Outreach Ministries. Volunteers serve on the steering committee and host the meetings.  We meet in various homes from September – May on the third Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

Fellowship, Fun, and Spiritual Nurture
Join us in September as Jack Peyrouse of St. Peter’s Players plays Adam in Mark Twain’s The Diary of Adam and Eve. Adam is something of a recluse and is ill–prepared for the arrival of Eve, a talkative, emotional, highly charged female. Yet, in time, and after many conflicts, they gradually learn to live together, realizing that men and women can, in fact, exist in harmony.

Cost is $6.00 with a canned good and $7.00 without.
Reservations due the Monday before to Annette Cook at 271.8773 ext. 182.
