Faith Development: Senior Adults

Through trips, classes, lunches and programs we engage each other and challenge ourselves to continue our transformational encounters with Christ. Christ Church Senior Adults enjoy fellowship and Christian community while blessing the parish and city with our depth of spiritual maturity and wisdom.

Funeral Planning Lunch: Sunday, October 22, 12:30 PM, McCall Parlor
Planning your funeral doesn’t have to be depressing! Join Bob Chiles and Annette Cook and learn about your options. An optional lunch is $8/person and reservations are due to Annette by Thursday, October 19.

Lunch Bunch: Tuesday, October 24, 11:30 AM, Happy China, 101 Verdae Boulevard
Food and fellowship: one of the oldest Christian traditions for a good reason. Happy China is owned by some fellow Christ Church parishioners - join us for good food and good company. Reservations are due by Friday, October 20.

Great Smoky Mountains Excursion: Friday, October 27, 6:00 AM
See the changing leaves and beautiful mountains from a comfortable train after a van ride to Bryson City. There will be time to walk around town and visit the shops before we head back to Greenville. This trip is full!

Estate Planning Lunch: Sunday, October 29, 12:30 PM, McCall Parlor
Whether all your financial affairs are planned or you are just beginning to think about it, this discussion is for you. An optional lunch is $8/person and reservations are due to Annette by Thursday, October 26.

The Order of St. Luke Healing Prayer Ministry: November 5, 1:00 PM, Thomas Library
This ministry provides healing prayer at services and privately. If you are interested in studying to join this ministry please come to the meeting or call Annette, 672.4141, for information.

Veterans Day Celebration: Friday, November 10, 9:15 AM
This marks the 100th anniversary of the Camp Sevier. After participating in this wonderful program, we’ll go to lunch. Reservations are due by Monday, November 6.

Bazaar Bee: November 13, 10:00 AM, Room 222
We will review this year’s bazaar and share refreshments while we start the planning process for next year.

Daughters of the King: November 26, 6:30 PM, Thomas Library 
The mission of The Order of the Daughters of the King is the extension of Christ's Kingdom through Prayer, Service and Evangelism. If you are already a member or are interested in joining please come. Call Annette, 672.4141, for more information.

Lunch Bunch: Tuesday, November 28, 11:30 AM, Red Lobster, 1940 Wade Hampton Boulevard
Join us for food and fellowship, two of the oldest Christian traditions for a good reason. Seafood will revive your taste buds after all the turkey. Reservations are due by Monday, November 27.

Biltmore at Christmas: Friday, December 1, 9:00 AM
Get into the mood for Christmas with a visit to the Biltmore. We’ll travel in a van to visit the house, have lunch in the Stable Café, and attend a wine tasting. Cost: $105 plus lunch or $50 plus lunch for passholders. Reservations are due by Friday, November 17 for non-passholders and Friday, November 24 for passholders.

A Dickens Christmas: Thursday, December 14, 5:00 PM, Orchard Inn
Join us as we enjoy a five-course dinner and readings from Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Reserve now - spots fill up quickly. Cost: $65 plus beverages, tax, and tip and $3 per person for the bus. Reservations are due by Friday, December 1.

Wednesday Morning Fellowship: 11:00 AM
Coffee Area Outside the Chapel

Worship and fellowship in this setting create the perfect atmosphere to meet parishioners, solidify friendships, and enjoy a mid-week break. We gather in the coffee area outside Markley Chapel for light refreshments and fellowship following the service.

Worship at the Cascades: Every third Friday of the month, 10:30 AM

The Rev. Jeffrey Meadowcroft celebrates the Eucharist at the Cascades the 3rd Friday of each month. Everyone is invited to join our Christ Church residents for an informal, holy time.
