Faith Development: Senior Adults

Through trips, classes, lunches and programs we engage each other and challenge ourselves to continue our transformational encounters with Christ. Christ Church Senior Adults enjoy fellowship and Christian community while blessing the parish and city with our depth of spiritual maturity and wisdom.

Lenten Eucharist and Fellowship Time: Wednesdays in Lent, 11:30 AM, Markley Chapel
During Lent, we will gather before the noon service in the coffee area outside Markley Chapel for light refreshments and fellowship then attend the service together.

The International Order of St. Luke the Physician Emmett Lucas Chapter Meeting

The International Order of St. Luke the Physician, OSL, is a healing prayer ministry whose members participate in the Tuesday night healing service. We meet directly after the Tuesday night service on the 1st Tuesday of the month through May 7. Anyone feeling called to pray for healing is welcome to attend and learn more about OSL. Spring Fling for Boomers & Friends: Friday, April 26, 5:30 - 8:30 PM, 345 E Parkins Mill Rd

Nolley Sanchelli has graciously opened her home for a grand spring fling. We’ll have heavy hors d’oeuvres, libations and a lot of conversation. Bring a friend or two and dress casually. Cost: $10 per person. You may pay online or at the door with exact change or a check.

Brevard College Concert Series, 1st Mondays, 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Reserve your spot by April 29!
This month it’s a piano and violin duo at the free Brevard College Concert. We dine at the Square Root beforehand. Transportation is $6.00 and lunch is Dutch Treat. Space is limited so reserve early.

This is a midweek re-charging of the spirit through worship and conversation. We gather in the coffee area outside Markley Chapel for light refreshments and fellowship following the service.

Soaking Prayer: Tuesday, May 21 5:45 - 6:15 PM, Markley Chapel
This is a time to sit in silence and be with God while soothing music plays in the background of our softly lit chapel. No reservations are needed - just drop in from 5:45 PM - 6:15 PM every 3rd Tuesday after the healing service. For information, contact Nina Brooks, 256.289.6124.

Trip to St. Augustine, Florida: Monday, June 10 - Thursday, June 13

From the Old Jail to the Ripley’s Believe it or Not Museum; from the sublime to the ridiculous, we’ll enjoy ourselves for 3 days in historic St. Augustine. The cost is $576 double occupancy and includes 2 days of tours, transportation and hotel. Max capacity is 9 people, and the cost will decrease as more people join in the fun.

Rite 1 Service and Fellowship Time

Art of the Spirit: Thursdays 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, Room 222
No talent required, just enthusiasm. We are learning mixed media or working on pieces for outreach programs as the Blessed Brushes Ministry. The focus is on how committed we are to opening up to God; and we are all beginners there. Call Annette Cook, 672.4141, before Thursday to be sure we aren’t on a gallery tour.

Friendly Bridge: Mondays, 1:30 - 3:30 PM, Graham Library
This group is for beginners, advanced players, and those who think they MIGHT want to learn bridge so all skill levels are welcome. You do not have to be a member to join us. Cards and fellowship are a time-honored tradition we want to revive at Christ Church. There is a beginners and rusty players class at 1:00 PM and the cost is $5. Questions? Worship Service at Autumn Leaves
The 2nd Friday of every month, 10:00 AM, 352 Pelham Road

This new service is an outreach of the Senior Adult Ministry, and parishioners are invited to worship and visit with the residents of Autumn Leaves.

Grief Work Check-In: Tuesdays, 2:00 - 3:00 PM, Thomas Library
The third Sunday of every month, anyone wishing to share their grief journey is welcome to join us for conversation and support. Your grief need not be new or involve a death, as our loss comes from many sources. Contact Annette Cook, 672.4141, to participate or if you want more information. 

Worship at the Cascades
The 3rd third Friday of every month, 10:30 AM, 10 Fountainview Terrace

The Rev. Jeffrey Meadowcroft celebrates the Eucharist at the Cascades the 3rd Friday of each month. Everyone is invited to join our Christ Church residents for an informal, holy time. 

Wednesday Morning Fellowship: 11:00 AM, Coffee Area Outside the Chapel
Worship and fellowship in this setting create the perfect atmosphere to meet parishioners, solidify friendships, and enjoy a mid-week break. We gather in the coffee area outside Markley Chapel for light refreshments and fellowship following the service.
