Between Sundays: Weekday Offerings

Small Groups

A Small Group is a group of about 12 adults who meet regularly (twice a month would be typical) for Christian fellowship, study, prayer, and service. For more information contact Amy Malik.

Sunday School & Weekday Bible Studies begin September 8!

Because Christ Church is a large parish, weekday Bible studies and classes are a great way to connect and enjoy more intimate fellowship with others in our church community. At Christ Church, you will find a wide variety of groups that exist to inspire spiritual growth centered around the Bible, worship, prayer, outreach and fellowship.

Centering Prayer: 12:15 - 1:30 PM, St. Luke’s Chapel
Do you ever feel as though words are getting in the way when you’re trying to pray? Or that God seems distant when you need Him the most? Centering Prayer can help. This type of silent prayer can lead to a closer relationship with God. It’s a 20-minute, twice-a-day practice. Participants in this weekly group can help you weave it into your life. The class meets year-round. In August, the group will read Manifesting God by Father Thomas Keating. Facilitated by Judy Lineback, Cynthia Fore, and others.

With insights by Rabbi Sobel, we gain a deeper understanding of the rites and traditions that we have heard for centuries about this story but now brought to new light. Interested parties are encouraged to join at ANY time, regardless of whether you have been to all previous sessions or none.  Order The Rock, The Road, and the Rabbi online today.

One of the adult retreats/conferences we offer through Christ Church is Cursillo. “Cursillo” is a Spanish word meaning “short course.” Cursillo Weekends are offered Thursday night through Sunday afternoons three times a year at the Gravatt Camp and Conference near Aiken, SC.

A Cursillo Weekend is a time of encouragement and learning in a positive and spiritual environment for individuals or couples who are already participating members of the Church. Great meals, uplifting music and meaningful worship, short teachings by priest and lay persons, and small group time combine for a fulfilling weekend.
