An intimate space in the Parish House (Room 225) has been blessed by Bishop Hultstrand and the clergy in quiet dedication for the ministry of spiritual direction. The contemplative and confidential ministry of spiritual direction has been practiced in the Church for centuries and is increasingly sought by people in contemporary society who desire a deeper intimacy with God and someone to companion them on the journey.
Spiritual direction is a prayerful time and place to reflect with another about your relationship with God. The process of spiritual direction may be understood as the journey of coming home to your deepest self. As all of life provides opportunities to reflect and become more aware of God’s presence, the “directee” comes to spiritual direction to reflect deeply on the experiences of daily life. These experiences include prayer, finding the sacred in the ordinary, questions of faith and discernment, and relationship with God, self, others, and creation – what worries and grieves you or gives you cause for joy and celebration.
The tradition of the spiritual director is to prayerfully journey with you within confidential, one-on-one sessions as you deepen your relationship with God. Spiritual direction sessions at Christ Church are scheduled once a month for an hour.
