2011 Elections

WHAT?

We are electing four Vestry members, each to serve a three year term on the Christ Church Vestry. Nominees are: Courtney Atkinson, Julian Dority, Justin Fox, Allen McCravy, Ashley Reynolds, and Jim Yarbrough.

WHEN & WHERE?

Voting will be at the Annual Parish Meeting on November 20 at 10:15 AM in the All Saints Center.

Voting, for those unable to attend the annual meeting, will begin November 7 in the Parish House. The ballot box will be located next to the Rector’s office and open the following dates and times:

Monday-Friday, November 7-11 & November 14-18, from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Wednesdays, November 9 and 16, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM
Sunday, November 13 from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Absentee ballots, for those who are unable to vote in person due to illness, infirmity or absence from the area, may be obtained by contacting Judy Bolt, 282.3101.

WHY?

Those elected will fill vacating spots of retiring Vestry members Reg Brooker, Mac Gentile, Chris Klasing, and Sherri Timmons.

WHO?

All communicants in good standing of Christ Church who are 16 years of age or older are eligible to vote. According to the bylaws, communicants are “members of Christ Church who have received Holy Communion in this Church at least three times during the preceding year,” and communicants in good standing are “communicants of Christ Church who for the previous year have been faithful in corporate worship, unless for good cause prevented, and have been faithful in working, praying and giving for the spread of the kingdom of God, and who have been confirmed by a Bishop of The Episcopal Church, USA or a Bishop in communion with this Church, or who have been received into this Church by a Bishop of The Episcopal Church, USA or a church in communion with this Church.”
