Faith Development: Young Adults

Summer Book Study: Wednesdays, July 5 - 26, 12 noon - 1:00 PM, Graham Library
During the month of July, come join us each Wednesday at 12 noon for our Summer Book Study, led by The Rev. Jay Biedenharn. This year, we will be reading and discussing Being Disciples: Essentials of the Christian Life by Rowan Williams. “Discipleship is about how we live; not just the decisions we make, not just the things we believe, but a state of being.”

July 5 - Introduction and Chapter 1: Being Disciples
July 12 - Chapter 2: Faith, Hope, and Love and Chapter 3: Forgiveness
July 19 - Chapter 4: Holiness and Chapter 5: Faith in Society
July 26 - Chapter 6: Life in the Spirit and Conclusion

Father Jay, our book study leader this summer, joined Christ Church via Memphis, TN. He is passionate about leading people into a deeper understanding of Christian faith and practice. When he’s not reading theology, you can find him at home playing in his backyard with his two daughters. He is the new Associate Priest for Faith Development.

Parishioners and guests are invited to bring a bag lunch if they choose. Drinks and dessert will be provided for all. No registration required. Contact Mary Ellen Vernon, 282.3101, with questions. Books will be available for purchase in the bookstore.

Let us not love in word or speech but in deed and truth. - 1 John 3:18

Welcome to the Young Adult Ministry at Christ Church! This vibrant, active ministry keeps our members, ages 22 - 39, connected and involved. The Young Adults participate in a variety of social events, volunteer opportunities and family-friendly special events throughout the year. Christ Church has a wonderful Children's Ministry for Young Adults with children from birth - 5th grade. We also have a wide range of worship services and Sunday School classes to help you grow in faith, build relationships and be an event bigger part of our joyful community sharing life in Jesus Christ.

Small Groups are a great opportunity to develop closer relationships with other parishioners who are similar in age or at a similar stage in life. Many small groups continue meeting for many years and members grow to be close friends who celebrate life's milestones together. All Young Adults are encouraged to be a part of a Small Group.
