Welcome.

We're glad you found us.

At Christ Church, our doors are open to all visitors. We believe a community of diversity and acceptance starts in a safe and inclusive place of worship. We proudly follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and are committed to a lifelong religious journey through His teachings.

Some call us the “Parish in the heart of the city.” But you can call us home. Our church’s vision has become a reality as we promote the word of God through worship, growth, service, and care.

We embrace and empower apostles to serve Jesus Christ – by valuing our community and making our church welcoming and accessible to all. One visit and you’ll see that we are home to a diverse group of parishioners. We are a place for everyone, exemplifying grace and truth in everything we do.

If you're seeking a new parish home or spiritual community, we'd love to hear from you!

Our Mission is to "Embrace, Equip, and Empower Apostles to Serve Jesus Christ."

Our Core Values are

  • Community Nurture relationships within and beyond the parish.
  • Compassionate Demonstrate God’s love and mercy by caring for others.
  • Faithful Follow the witness of scripture, tradition and reason.
  • Grateful Celebrate that all we have is a gift from God.
  • Inviting To All Honor our differences, while seeking our unity in Christ.

Our Vision is to be "A Joyful Community Sharing Life in Jesus Christ!"

Our History

A walk through the churchyard is like a walk through history, as you see the names of former clergy, church members, and former mayors. Also interred are Vardry McBee, the post-Civil War provisional Governor Benjamin Franklin Perry, his son, US Congressman William H. Perry, and US Senator Joseph H. Earle.

Our current focus is to re-establish and develop the grounds of the Church, so the campus will complement and enhance the beautiful, historic church buildings in the heart of Greenville. These significant beautification efforts are led by a volunteer Grounds Committee with completion expected in the next several years.

To enable us to explore and search the dynamic ownership records of the cemetery, a churchyard website was completed in the Fall of 2010 and given to the church by Crawford B. Lewis, a dedicated parishioner, as his Eagle Scout Project. A map of the churchyard can be found in the Business Office and is available for viewing and locating cemetery sites.

Historical Tours of the church, chapel, and churchyard are given several times a year. For more information on upcoming tours, please call 864.271.8773.

If you have any questions about the churchyard or would like to learn more about the availability of cemetery lots, please contact Jennifer Quinn.
