Angel Tree Store

The Angel Tree Store brings Christ Church together each Christmas to help make the season brighter for families from Legacy Early College. Throughout November and December, parishioners donate toys, fill stockings, shop and volunteer to create a welcoming, store-like experience where parents can choose Christmas gifts for their own children.

On the day of the Store, families pay a small admission fee and select gifts and a stocking for each child. This approach allows parents the dignity and joy of choosing the gifts they know their children will love while creating opportunities for connection between Christ Church volunteers and our neighbors from Legacy Early College.

There are three ways to help:

Stock the Store

Purchase items from our Amazon Wish List (available in November) or make a monetary donation.

Stuff a Stocking

Stockings will be available in the Parish House in November. Each will include the name, gender and age of the child for whom you're filling the stocking.

Suggested items: small toys, art supplies, personal care items, socks, candy, games and other age-appropriate stocking stuffers.

Volunteer

A variety of volunteers are needed to shop, prepare for the event and help on the day of the Angel Tree Store. The volunteer sign-up will be available in November.

How the Angel Tree Store works

The Angel Tree Store comes together through several weeks of shopping, preparation and volunteering.

November: Stock the Store
Angel Tree kicks off with a social on November 5, where parishioners can learn more about the Angel Tree Store and pick up stockings to fill. Throughout November, the parish helps stock the Store by donating toys, filling stockings and making monetary donations.

December: Prepare the Store
Volunteers sort and organize donations, shop for additional gifts using donated funds, assemble items and prepare gifts for the Store.

Store Day: Welcome our families
Volunteers transform the gym at Legacy Early College into the Angel Tree Store and welcome the families who have been selected to shop. Parents shop for Christmas gifts for their children while volunteers assist with shopping, wrapping, prayer and loading gifts into cars.

Rather than receiving preselected gifts, parents choose the gifts they know their children will love, creating an experience centered on dignity, choice and connection.

Angel Tree Store in action

In 2025, the generosity of Christ Church helped make Christmas brighter for families from Legacy Early College.

More than 200 volunteers helped shop, sort, set up the store, welcome families, wrap gifts, pray with our neighbors and load cars.

Together, Christ Church provided:

  • 750+ toys donated to stock the store
  • 105 families served
  • 215 children who received Christmas gifts
  • 215 filled stockings — one for every child

Remaining toys were donated to the Dream Center, extending the impact of the Angel Tree Store to even more local families.
