A Letter from the Wardens
August 15, 2022
Dear Fellow Parishioners:
In our parish life, this time of year calls for nominations and elections of our church lay leadership, the Vestry. This year, Christ Church will also elect a Senior and a Junior Warden to serve a two-year term. In addition to the Wardens, the parish will elect four (4) Vestry members to each serve a three-year term.
These newly elected Wardens and Vestry members join the Rector and eight (8) seated Vestry members to constitute the Vestry and shall be the official representatives of the church.
We will also nominate and elect both a Convention Delegate and an Alternate Convention Delegate to represent Christ Church at the Diocesan Convention. These Delegates will serve a four-year term along with other previously elected Delegates, who serve staggered 4-year terms.
The upcoming Elections are an essential part of planning and moving Christ Church into the future, as we embrace, equip, and empower others as a Joyful Community Sharing Life in Jesus Christ. The quality of leadership at Christ Church will be assured only if each of us gives serious and prayerful consideration to the individuals we nominate for these important positions. We encourage you to seek candidates who are committed and engaged members of the church, regular in church attendance, and faithful in their support. If you are interested in standing for one of these positions, please make that interest known as well.
Please carefully look over the following information regarding the nomination process. Your participation is vital to the mission of Christ Church.
Feel free to contact one of us or the other Vestry members if you have any questions.
Gratefully,
Dena S. Benedict,
Senior Warden
Nelson B. Arrington, III,
Junior Warden
