Care for others at Christ Church
Caring for one another is an important part of our life together at Christ Church. Through our Caring Ministries, parishioners offer companionship, prayer and practical support to members of our church community during times of illness, grief, transition and other seasons of need.
Whether you enjoy visiting with others, making a phone call, delivering flowers or creating something by hand, there are many ways to help members of our parish feel cared for and connected.
Flower Delivery Ministry
Each Sunday, flowers from the altar are arranged into smaller bouquets and delivered to parishioners who are homebound, hospitalized or experiencing a time when a little extra care is needed. Volunteers help prepare and deliver the arrangements, sharing a beautiful reminder of the love and prayers of their Christ Church family.
Lay Eucharistic Visitors
Lay Eucharistic Visitors bring Holy Communion to parishioners who are unable to attend worship because of illness, limited mobility or other circumstances. Through these visits, members remain connected to the worship and sacramental life of Christ Church.
Christ Church Knitters
Christ Church Knitters use their gifts to create prayer shawls and other handmade items for those experiencing illness, grief or other difficult circumstances. Each piece is made with care and prayer as a tangible reminder of the love and support of our church community. The group meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 2–4 PM in the Arrington Room.
Touch Base Phone Ministry
Touch Base volunteers help parishioners stay connected to Christ Church through friendly phone calls and conversation. These simple connections offer companionship, encouragement and an opportunity to identify when someone may need additional pastoral care or support.
Prayer Chain Ministry
Members of the Prayer Chain offer confidential prayer for parishioners and others in need of prayer. This ministry is a meaningful way to care for others through faithful and ongoing prayer.
Order of St. Luke
The Order of St. Luke is a ministry centered on healing prayer. Members pray with and for those seeking God's healing and wholeness and support the healing ministry of Christ Church.
