6th through 12th grade
Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) is a place for youth to grow in faith, build meaningful relationships and have fun together. Through worship, formation, fellowship and service, we create a welcoming community where youth can ask questions, discover their gifts and deepen their relationship with God and one another.
Contact Joleen Nelson, Director of Youth & College Ministries, for additional information about EYC.
Youth on Sundays
SUNDAY SCHOOL | 9:30–10:15 AM
Youth in 6th through 12th grade gather on Sunday mornings for Bible study, conversation and fellowship as they explore what it means to live as Christians and Episcopalians. And yes, there are donuts!
EYC | SUNDAY EVENINGS
Middle School (6th–8th): 5–6 PM
Dinner: 6–6:30 PM
High School (9th–12th): 6:30–7:30 PM
Sunday nights are all about building community through faith, fellowship, games and time together. Middle and high school youth meet separately, with everyone coming together for dinner between sessions.
SECOND SUNDAYS: SERVEUS
On the second Sunday of each month, EYC heads out into the community for ServeUS. Through hands-on service with local organizations, youth learn about the needs of our neighbors, build relationships and discover ways to make service part of their everyday lives.
Programs & Opportunities
Confirmation gives youth an opportunity to explore their faith, learn more about the Episcopal Church and consider what it means to make a mature commitment to their baptismal promises. Christ Church offers preparation for youth approaching age 16, including classes and a retreat. Check our Events page for current confirmation retreats.
Throughout the year, youth have opportunities to step away from their everyday routines and grow through retreats, trips and mission experiences. These experiences offer time for worship, service, adventure and deeper connections with God and one another. Check our Events page for current opportunities.
Our inter-church basketball league gives youth an opportunity for fun, fellowship and friendly competition. Teams are available through 12th grade, with registration taking place each fall. Learn more about Basketball at Christ Church →
Christ Church is home to Scout Troop 511, offering youth opportunities to develop leadership skills, serve their community, explore the outdoors and build friendships. Contact Scoutmaster Dean Cavalier for more information.
Youth in 10th through 12th grade are invited to take an active role in shaping EYC through the Student Leadership Team. Members help plan programs and events, welcome other youth and develop their gifts as leaders within the church. Contact Joleen Nelson for more information.
Volunteer with EYC
EYC depends on adult volunteers who share their time and talents with our youth. Opportunities include helping with Sunday School and EYC, providing meals, chaperoning trips and retreats and assisting with special events throughout the year. Contact Joleen Nelson to learn more about getting involved.
