A Lenten Reflection Weekend - “To Everything, A Season”, featuring the Rev. Barbara Crafton, February 23 - 25, Christ Church, Greenville SC

Have you heard the news? Due to unforeseen circumstances, we'll not be retreating to Kanuga as a parish family this year. However, over that same weekend, we will be hosting our fabulous Parish Retreat speaker right here in Greenville! You're invited to join us as we welcome the Rev. Barbara Crafton to our parish.

Meet Our Speaker:

Barbara Cawthorne Crafton is an Episcopal priest and author. She heads The Geranium Farm, an institute for the promotion of spiritual growth. The Farm publishes her Almost-Daily eMo, a meditation read online by tens of thousands worldwide. She has served a number of churches, including historic Trinity Church, Wall Street, St. James, the American church in Florence, Italy, St. John’s-in-the-Village in Greenwich Village, and St. Clement’s in Manhattan’s theatre district. She was a maritime chaplain on the New York waterfront, and served as a chaplain at Ground Zero after the attack on the World Trade Center.

A spiritual director and author of many books, Crafton leads retreats and teaches throughout the United States and abroad. A widow, she inflicts herself equally upon her two daughters, one in Colorado and one in New Jersey.

Relevant Scripture & Concepts:

How did you think about God, and how did those around you influence your sense of who God was?
  • “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in human and divine favor.” -- Luke 2:52
This is the time of acquisition: an education, a career, a house. Perhaps a partner and a family. The sense of an adult self.
  • “Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed.” -- I Corinthians 15:51
You have discovered you are no longer the center of the universe as you thought as a child. We remain works in progress until it is time for us to leave.
